Bio

The Rock County Leader Bassett, Nebraska March 15, 1979 Arthur E. Roggasch was born at Duff, Nebr., on Jan. 4, 1905, the son of Otto and Theresa Wendt Roggasch. He died March 8, at an Omaha hospital. He grew to manhood on the ranch at Rose and spent his entire life in that area. He was united in marriage to Mary Dunne at Burwell, Nebr., on Aug. 15, 1928. to this union five children were born. She died on Nov. 11, 1957. On Jan. 17, 1966 he was united in marriage to Marguetta Barnett at Denver, Colo. Art loved the outdoors, being with people and life in general. He enjoyed horseshoe playing. His hobbies included a collection of barbed wire and antique tools. He was a member of the Elks club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents and one brother, Carl. Art is survived by his wife, Marguetta of Rose; three sons, Dennis and Don of Rose and Ken of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Jenny Crisp of San Antonio, Tex., and Regina Brockley of Valentine; two sisters, Tracy Bair of Bassett, and Nellie Gudath of White River, S. D.; 13 grandchildren, Mike, Brad and Lisa Brockley, Trey, Kent and Dee Crisp, Jeff, Randy, Ronny, Jeremy, Jason, Kendra and Misty Roggasch. Funeral services were held Monday at the Bassett United Methodist church with Rev. John Jones officiating. Burial was in the Grandview cemetery at Long Pine. Pallbearers were Mike Brockley, Brad Brockley, Trey Crisp, Kent Crisp, Dee Crisp, and Jeff Roggasch. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Roggasch, Ronny Roggasch, Jeremy Roggasch and Jason Roggasch.
