Fort Bend Herald, August 1, 2017: Funeral services for Rex Allyn Schulz, 63, of Guy, TX, are set for 11 am Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461, with Rev. Jeff Kluttz officiating. Burial will follow in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, Needville, TX. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Brooks Butler, Jr., Joseph Butler, Brooks Butler, Sr., Clinton Schumann, Darryl Schumann, Lynn Butler, Vernon "Butchie" Butler, and T.J. Jablonski. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gaylon Butler, Douglas Butler, Victor Garcia, and Charles Steffen. Mr. Schulz was born December 4, 1953, in Rosenberg, TX, to Vastine "Pete" Schulz and Irene Steffen Schulz. He died July 28, 2017, in Richmond, TX. Rex enjoyed collecting classic cars and trucks and antique toys. He loved sitting on the front porch of the old house watching traffic, and he loved his family and his neighbors. In the end, he enjoyed flirting with the nurses and doctors caring for him. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Asha Wurdeman with Memorial Hermann Hospital, Sugar Land, for her understanding and compassion in caring for Rex and for her diligence in keeping the family informed. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, by his sister, Cleo "Koko" Butler, and by two brothers-in-law, Vernon "Butch" Butler and Raymond Schumann. Survivors include three sisters, Maxine Schulz and Carmen Schulz, both of Guy, TX, and Corinne Schumann of Needville, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
