Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent December 1984 Ettaline Schroeder, 75, of Villa Grace Good Samaritan in Hastings, died Thursday. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Livingston- Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Robert Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery... Mrs. Schroeder was born June 14, 1909, in Merrick County, the daughter of Theodore and Lena Beberniss Ehlers. They moved to Grand Island and later to Chapman, where she received her education. She married Theodore Schroeder on May 18, 1927, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived in Grand Island. Mr. Schroeder died Aug. 28, 1958. In the early 1970's she moved to Fairfield, and for the past few years had been living at Villa Grace nursing home in Hastings. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith and had been a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers auxiliary. Survivors include a son, Ted of Grand Island; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Schroeder of Grand Island and Adela Rogers of Burwell; a brother, Ted Ehlers of Burwell, and a half-sister, Ella Soeth of Chapman; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a half-sister and a half-brother.
