Howard Louis Kosch of Spokane, Washington, founder of the Kosch Manufacturing Company, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the age of 95. Howard was born June 6, 1922, to Alois and Regina (Messing) Kosch in Shelby. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He married Irene (German) Veik on June 7, 1949, in Norfolk. He is survived by seven children Sheila (Veik) Kosch of Orlando, Florida, Bill (Linda) of Lincoln, Brother Sebastian (Bob) of Spokane, Washington, Ray Kosch of Seattle, Washington, Rita Czapla of Post Falls, Idaho, Tina (Tom) Sawyer of West Linn, Oregon, and Sister Maxine Arets of David City and brothers Max of Omaha, Joe of Columbus, Delmar of Columbus and Gerald of Rock Island, Illinois. Howard had 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene; an infant son; sisters Elizabeth Behrens and Theresa Kosch and half-sister Romana; brothers Harold (twin), Jerome, Dean and Donald and two sons-in-law Lowell Logan and Francis Czapla.
