The Columbus, NE. Telegram, February 4, 1976 KOSCH - Mrs. Regina Kosch, 83, formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday afternoon in the Butler County Hospital in David City. Ill the last several years, she has resided at St. Joseph Villa, David City. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Shelby. Her body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday at McKown funeral Home, where these prayer services are scheduled that day; 3 p.m. rosary and Legion of Mary prayers; 7 p.m. Third Order rosary; 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. Mrs. Kosch was born July 29, 1893 in Jefferson County, NE the daughter of John and Theresa (Zimmerman) Messing. She married Alois D. Kosch at Shelby and lived in that community until moving to Columbus. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Legion of Mary (active until her illness), Perpetual Adoration Society, Lay Third Order of St. Francis, Franciscan Missionary Union, St. Anne Society. Surviving are 10 children, Mrs. Ben (Romona) Gottesfeld, Max, Mrs. Ted (Maxine) Aerts, Howard, Harold, Alois Joe, Mrs. Bill (Elizabeth) Behrns, Donald, Delmar and Gerald; 56 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Edward, Ben, Martin and Ray Messing, Mrs. Bertha Thelen and Mrs. William (Emma) Markhofer. She was preceded in death by her husband; three children, Jerome, Dean and Theresa; brothers, George and Frank Messing; 10 grandchildren.
