Bio
Husband of Marian Louise Monstad. "Bus" grew up on a farm in Houston County, TX in a small community called Lovelady. He was one of thirteen children born to James Hardy Platt and Minnie Ola Barnes Platt. In the summer the family farmed in the country, but each winter they would move to "town" where the kids could walk to school. After leaving Texas he moved to Seattle and married Marian Louise Monstad, daughter of Magnus Monstad and Anne Tomine Tabiassen on May 11, 1943. He and Marian raised three wonderful successful children: Carol Lynne, Wanda "Kay" and Sam Briscoe Jr.
