Bio

Grace E. Brown, 84, formerly of 1922 Quaker, died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Beechwood Health Care Center. Born June 26, 1913, in Rock Island to Wayne and Irene Collins Hereford, she married Henry Oates on Feb. 3, 1931. She later married Ross Brown on Dec. 1, 1949, in Decatur. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by two sons and two stepdaughters. Surviving are one son, Donald Oates of Pekin; one daughter, Barbara Clemons of Pekin; one sister, Pearl Bradley of Adams, Wis.; two stepsons, Billy Brown of Topeka and Donald Brown of Oklahoma; and one stepdaughter, Beverly Brown of Oklahoma. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Full obit in the Peoria Journal Star - Apr. 21, 1998 . Note: her father is Wayne Wheeling Heryford, 1886-1960.
