THREE DEAD IN PEKIN MURDER-SUISIDE On February 24, 2013, while Barbara & her husband Ira were asleep her son Allen Clemons killed both parents as they slept, then fatally shot himself with one of three firearms police found Sunday night in the small home the three shared. The bodies of Clemons, 52; his father, Ira Lee Clemons, 77; and mother, Barbara Clemons, 75, were discovered about 9 p.m. in their home at 1227 Highland. They likely died hours before, if not earlier. While evidence of a double homicide and suicide appeared clear, investigators Monday began tracking the younger Clemons' history of psychological troubles and treatments. Police found a .22-caliber rifle and an "inoperable" sawed-off shotgun lying in open view in the home's living room, along with "a small amount" of various types of ammunition in the house, Jolly said. A handgun was found at Allen Clemons' feet next to a recliner in the home's unfinished basement, where he dropped it after shooting himself in the head.
