Bio

Ringling-Services for Winnie Cates will be at 1p.m. Friday at the Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Born Feb.3, 1898, in Oklahoma, I.T., Mrs. Cates died Tuesday in a Dumas, Texas Hospital after an extended illness. She was the widow of Charles Edward Cates, who died in 1979. She had lived in Moore County, Texas, the past 40 years. Survivors include three sons, Charles A., Houston, Ira U., Amarillo, Texas and Robert I., Forney, Texas; a daughter, Virginia Simms, Pasadena, Texas; a sister Birdie Lawrence; and two brothers; Mose and Carl Albin, Ringling; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
