Journal Gazette MATTOON, ILLINOIS Wednesday, November 23, 1994 Danville - Ivory P. (Ike) West, 87, of Danville died at 1:21 a.m. Monday (Nov. 21, 1994) at the American Health Care Center in Champaign. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel with the Rev. Jerry D. Martin Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday with a Masonic service at 1:45 p.m. by the Western Star Lodge. He was born Sept. 27, 1907, in Bethany, the son of Floyd and Edith Wheeler West. He married Lola A. Barnes; she died in 1960. He married Mildred E. Warner; she died on Feb. 26, 1994. Surviving are five daughters, Crystal Wagoner of Charleston, Marvene Blackmore of Mayview, Elaine West Scott of Roswell, N.M., Evelyn Kesler of Champaign and Frances Pritchard of St. Joseph; a brother, Earl (Buck) West of Sullivan; two sisters; Mearl Murphy of Sullivan; and Lolus Bruce of Urbana; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson. Mr. West was a meat cutter for Piggly Wiggly and Eisner stores in Champaign for many years and a salesman for Swift and Co. After retirement, he managed the Indian Springs Sportsmans CLub and was caretaker of the GAO Grotto grounds at Danville. He was a member of the Central Christian Church of Danville, the Champaign Masonic Lodge, the Danville Consistory, Eastern Illinois Shrine Club, and the GAO Grotto.
