Bio

Joseph Frank "Joe" Chromy was born to his loving caring parents Cyrill and Kristina (Cerny) Chromy on Friday September 22, 1916 at Linwood, Butler County Nebraska. Joe's childhood was spent in the Linwood area. My research found no information on Joe's schooling. Joe was united in marriage to Alice Ann Nesladek on Tuesday November 22, 1938 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Cedar Hill which is near Morse Bluff, Saunders County. The couple were blessed with two sons and three daughters over the fifty seven years of their marriage. The family lived at Linwood, Colon, and Valley before moving to a North Bend, Dodge County farm in 1943. This farm was six miles north and a half mile west of North Bend. Later Joe moved his family to another farm which was one and three fourth miles east of the first farm. This farm was east of highway seventy nine and on what is now called County Road N. Joe farmed until 1969 then he moved into North Bend. In North Bend he operated a road maintainer for Union Township until 1981. Joe was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church of North Bend. Joe was also a member of the Catholic Workmen. Sadly Joe passed on Sunday January 7, 1996 at the Fremont Dodge County Hospital. Joe was 79 years, 3 months, 16 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 28,961 days. Joe's visitation was held Tuesday January 9, 1996 at the Moser Memorial Chapel of North Bend from 9a to 9p with his rosary at 7:30p. Joe's funeral was held Wednesday January 10, 1996 at 10a at the St. Charles Catholic Church of North Bend with the Rev. Daniel Galas officiating. Joe was interred in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Cedar Hill. Joe's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Joe by a family friend Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed. Many details are still missing from his life, if you have any more details I will be happy to edit the additional information into this biography.
