Bio
Bernice Anne "Bing" (Chromy) Blatny was born to her loving parents Joseph F. "Joe" and Alice Ann (Nesladek) Chromy on Sunday June 6, 1943 at North Bend, Dodge County Nebraska. Bing had two sisters and two brothers, of which one brother passed at birth. Bing was first raised on a farm six miles north and a half mile west of North Bend. Bing's family later moved to another farm which was one and three fourth miles east of the first farm. Bing attended country elementary school district thirteen. Bing graduated from North Bend High in 1961, then attended Southeast Community College. Bing was united in marriage to Dr. Richard Blatny on Saturday August 6, 1966 at St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church at North Bend, the couple was blessed with five children over their twenty years of marriage. Bing's pride and joy was her family, a devoted mother and grandmother. Bing attended many of their performances, sporting events, school programs, ceremonies, birthday parties and other milestones. Bing was an excellent cook and hostess. Bing was an avid reader and had a knack for solving crossword puzzles. Bing loved the fall time of the year, particularly November. Bing would join her father, brother, and son in her earlier years on their hunting trips. Bing was especially good at spotting deer. Bing enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, and sister's trips. Bing had an artistic side which could be seen in her oil paintings, home décor, and her style of apparel. Bing was employed in the floral business creating beautiful imaginative arrangements while living at Fairbury, Jefferson County and Lincoln, Lancaster County. Bing held a couple of receptionist positions at Lincoln. Sadly Bing passed away at her Lincoln home on Tuesday November 18, 2014 at the age of 71 years, 5 months, 12 days which does not include her last day, she lived a total of 26,098 days. Bing's celebration of life was held at the Lincoln Family Funeral Care of Lincoln on Saturday November 29, 2014 from 2p to 5p. Bing's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Bing by a family friend Loren R.
