Funeral arrangements are pending, with the McKown Funeral Home in charge. The Daily Telegram, January 20, 1960 KUTA--Funeral services for John Kuta on Friday Funeral services for John _. Kuta, 73, of 560 20th avenue, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. Narcissus Tarkowski officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. The body will lie in state at the McKown Funeral chapel after 1 p.m., Thursday, and Rosary will be prayed there at 8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Kuta, a retired Union Pacific railroadman, died early Monday morning at his home. He had been ill for more than a year. A longtime resident of this community. Mr. Kuta came to Columbus with his parents, Joseph and Antonia Kuta, at the age of seven. The family came from Krakow, Poland, where he was born March 5, 1886. He married Catherine Kozak on Oct. 28, 1907 at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, and they have since resided in the Columbus vicinity. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic church. Surviving are his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Cecilia Chollar of Aurora, Mrs. Norma (Frances) Haynes of San Francisco, Mrs. Walter (Catherine) Miller of St. Edward, Mrs. Harold (Ann) Hanson of Long Beach, Calif., Miss Rose Kuta of Beatrice, Mrs. Stanley (Clara) Lassek and Mrs. Marion (Margaret) Mielak of Columbus; five sons, Edward and Leo of Columbus, Walter of North Stonington, Conn., Thomas of Mead and Aloysius of Beatrice; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Stacia Cody of Lincoln, Mrs. Charles Bonk of Columbus and Mrs. Matt Siebet of Ashton, Ia. Mr. Kuta was preceded in death by three infant children.
