Arrangements are pending at McKown Funeral Home for the former Columbus resident. The Columbus Telegram, September 26, 1974 KUTA - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic church for Leo Kuta, 45, a former Columbus resident who died Wednesday in the Omaha Veterans Hospital. The Rev. Lauris Buzynski will officiate and burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with military rites. Rosary service is 7:30 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Chapel where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. that day. Son of John J. and Catherine (Kosak) Kuta, he was born July 28, 1929 in Columbus and lived here until moving to Omaha seven years ago. He served in the Army from April, 1951 to August, 1953. In Omaha he lived at 3924 North 70th Street and was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Married to Alice Bernt, Aug. 4, 1962, in Columbus, he is survived by his wife; three brothers, Edward of North Platte, Walter of North Stonington, Conn., and Thomas of Omaha; six sisters, Mrs. Norman (Frances) Haynes of San Francisco, Mrs. Harold (Ann) Hanson of Long Beach, Calif., Rose of Norfolk, Mrs. Walter (Catherine) Miller, Mrs. Clara Lassek and Mrs. Marion (Margaret) Mielak of Columbus. His parents and a number of brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
