From the Platte County, NE. web site: http://rootsweb.ancestry.com/~neplatte/vitals/vitals1941.html The Columbus Daily Telegram, December 17, 1941 Mrs. Antonia Kuta Ill for Year, Dies; Funeral Friday Death came to Mrs. Antonia Kuta, 79, Columbus resident for 50 years, at 9:55 p.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bonk, 1711 Fourth street, where she had made her home for the past five years. Ailing the past year, she was bedfast six months. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casmier Wass, she was born in Poland, April 8, 1862. She spent her girlhood there and married in November, 1884, to Joseph Kuta. In 1890 Mr. Kuta came to this country and the following year Mrs. Kuta and their three children joined him here. They came directly to Columbus and settled on a farm five miles east of here, where they lived until 1919 when they retired and moved to town. Mr. Kuta died in 1935 and since that time Mrs. Kuta had resided with her daughter. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic parish, and St. Theresa's society. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edward Cody of Lincoln, Mrs. Matt Seiwert of Ashton, Ia., and Mrs. Charles Bonk of Columbus; a son, John Kuta of Columbus; 32 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic church with Rev. Stanley Jaworski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. The body will be taken from the Gass Funeral home to the Bonk home at 2 p.m. Thursday where it will lie in state until the hour of the service.
