Bio
William Andrew Burns is a unique person on my family tree. He was brother to my mother's grandfather John Logan Burns, making him my great grand uncle. He was also the 2nd husband of Martha Jane LAWSON DEAN BURNS, my father's great grandmother, and step-father to my father's grandmother Cornie Adline DEAN HEARD. William and Martha were married on 16 Aug 1895. They had four children: Lester Monroe Burns, Earnest O'Neal Burns, Florence Irene Burns, and Ira L. Burns. Martha died of TB on 6 Jun 1909 in Tennessee. William married Minnie Pearl Richey in 1910. They had nine children: Ola May Burns, Lillie Burns, Willie A. Burns, Henry L. Burns, Mary Lue Burns, Eugene Burns, Ruth Alene Burns, and James "Jimmy" E. Burns. William died of cancer on 29 May 1953.
