Duncan Banner, Sun., Dec. 3, 2006 Wichita Falls, Texas - Former Duncan resident MARTHA LEE PHILPOT, 69, of Wichita Falls, Texas, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Weaver Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. H.O. Ballard and the Rev. Forrest Cook officiating. Burial is under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Martha was born July 31, 1937, in Velma, to Stokley G.B. and Lola Mae Campbell Cook. She worked for many years for Haggar Slacks, then as a cross-country truck driver with her husband, Russell. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church of Wichita Falls. Survivors include her husband, Russell Lee Philpot of Wichita Falls; two sons, Donald Christopher and Rhonda Beck, and Ronald Craig and Shelly Cox, all of Wichita Falls; two stepsons, Russell Lee Jr. and Rita Philpot, and Kenny Dale Philpot, all of Ardmore, Okla.; two brothers, Wayne and Laura Cook of Oklahoma City, and David and Danell Cook of Meridian; three sisters, Nancy and Ed Locke of Wynona, Miss., Virginia and George Tugman of Headrick, Okla., and Geneva and Leon Nunley of Iowa Park, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Maxine Cox; and two sons, James Albert Cox and Gerald Douglas Philpot. Bearers will be Ray Cook, Pete Cook, Bobby Cook, Richard Clay, Matthew Tugman and Pagon Ballard.
