Bio

THELMA JASPER Thelma Jasper, 96, passed away August 21, at her home in Orland, CA. Thelma was born April 11, 1920 in Bemidgi, MN. She married Walter Jasper in 1939 and shortly thereafter she moved to the farm where she would spend the rest of her life. Alongside Walter she helped transform the dry barren ground into a thriving farm, where she raised three children and entertained countless friends over the years. Thelma was an active member of the Orland community and she loved china painting, bridge, golf, hunting and fishing, drinking coffee with friends, and riding around the countryside. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1995 and her son Don. She is survived by her daughters, Karen and Linda (Dennis), grandchildren, Allison (Reese), Mike (Anne Marie), Melissa (John) and Shelbie (Rich), great grandchildren, Dominic, Braden and Jasper. Graveside Services will be Thursday August 25, 2016 at 11 am at Oddfellow Cemetery, Orland, CA. A reception will follow at the Jasper Ranch. Memorial Contribution can be made to the Orland Fire Dept or charity of your choice , C/O F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, 825 A St. Orland, CA. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on Aug. 23, 2016
