Bio

Joel Preston Burch was born 1 Sep 1871, the second son of William BURCH and Susan STORM Burch. He was named after his grandfather Joel Burch and an uncle Preston Storm. Joel Preston's father, William, was a farmer, and Joel Preston became a farmer as well. On the 5th of September 1897, Joel Preston married. His wife was Minna Gertrude HAM, the daughter of Jacob Greenberry HAM and Mary Eliza SHARPE. He was 26 years old at the time of the wedding. His wife was 20. Unfortunately the marriage was short. Minna died one year later on Sept 13 1898. Joel Preston married a second time on the 6th of Feb 1904. His new wife was Almira ABRAM HAM. She was the widow of William M. HAM (Minna's uncle). At the time of their wedding Joel Preston was 32 and Almira was 40. She brought 4 children to the marriage, ages 7 to 20. Together Joel Preston and Almira had one son: Dallas R Burch 1905 – 1976 Joel Preston died 28 Jan 1930 at the age of 58 years.
