Clarion News - May 25, 1982 pg. 11 Herbert L. Kifer, 65, of Clarion died Sunday May 23, 1982, in Clarion Hospital. Born Nov. 12, 1916. in Ridgeway, he was a son of the late L. L. and Sarah Kirkwood Kifer. He was married August 26, 1937, to the former Florence Phillip, who survives. Mr. Kifer, a florist owned and operated the Phillips-Kifer Flower business in Clarion for 35 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, F&AM Lodge, American Legion Post 66 and the Moose Lodge in Clarion, Coudersport Consistory and Zem Zem Shrine. He served with the U. S. Army in World War II. In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son James H. of Clarion; one daughter, Mrs. Cherie K. Elder of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Debra McCall and James Kifer of Clarion and Scott Elder and Melissa Elder of Phoenix and two brothers, Everette E. Kifer and Meade R. Kifer both of Clarion. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday (today) from the Gerald L. Goble Funeral Home in Clarion with the Rev. W. LeRoy Jones officiating. Burial was in Clarion Cemetery.
