Bio
The Derrick Friday, February 16, 2001 Florence Kifer, 80, of Glendale AZ., formerly of Clarion, died Tuesday February 13, 2001, in Peoria, Ariz. Born March 10, 1920, she was a daughter of John V. and Erda Crawford Phillips. Mrs. Kifer was married in May 1937 to Herbert L. Kifer, who died May 23, 1982. She and her late husband owned and operated Phillips Flowers in Clarion until their retirement. Mrs. Kifer was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Clarion. Mrs. Kifer was an avid golfer. Surviving are a son and his wife, James H. and Carol Kifer of Clarion; a daughter Cherie K. Elder and her friend, Tom, of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Debra Rankin of Clarion, James L. Kifer of Rimersburg and Scott Elder and Missy Elder, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; and six great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Jack Phillips of Buffalo, NY In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kifer was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Smith and Ruth Phillips. Visitation will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Clarion Cemetery.
