Bio

James H. Kifer, 86, of Fisher, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Clarion on July 27, 1938 to the late Herbert L. and Florence M. (Phillips) Kifer. Jim was a 1956 graduate of Clarion High School and then earned a teaching degree at Clarion State College. He spent his career as a 3rd generation florist in the family business, Phillips-Kifer Flowers, which will have its 100th anniversary in 2026. Jim was an avid golfer and continued this hobby into his 80s. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout the years with trips to Black Lake, Elk hunting in Montana and Colorado, and a Caribou hunt in Canada. Jim is survived by his children Debra (Craig) Rankin of Clarion and James (Brenda) Kifer of Rimersburg; sister Cherie (Tom) Atkinson of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren Jason (Erin) Kifer of Plainfield, IL, Dustin (Kelli) Kifer of Rimersburg, Noah (Jocelyn) Rankin of Fairmount City, and Jacob Rankin of Clarion; great-grandchildren Ava and Adam Kifer, Andrew, Emma, Olivia Kifer, and Evelyn Rankin. In addition, Jim is survived by his sister-in-law Rita Rupp and brother-in-law Gary (Sherry) Delp, along with stepchildren Vicky McGinnis and Pam Sifinski. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carol (Delp) Kifer. Friends and family will be received from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory Inc: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 4:00pm. Interment will follow at Cedarview Memorial Park.
