AV Press Newspaper MAULDIN, Cecil D. 'Have you heard the latest?' 'Its not out yet!' That was one of Cecils favorite jokes. Well, the latest is that Cecil went home to heaven on July 11, 2016, while surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, on May 20, 2005, after 58 years of marriage, and his oldest son, Dale, on June 23, 2015. Cecil was born in Oklahoma on July 7, 1929, and was one of 14 children born to Elmer and Alberta Mauldin, and was the last surviving sibling. Cecil had eight brothers and five sisters. In the 1950's, Cecil and his brothers formed their very own baseball team, and called themselves the 'Mauldin Brothers, winning many trophies that were proudly displayed in his mothers home over the years. Cecil came to the Antelope Valley as a young teenager where he married Joyce on February 11, 1947. Together, they had six children. He is survived by five of his children and numerous grand and great grandchildren. [Names of surviving family members omitted, per Find A Grave policy.]
