BIOGRAPHY William John (Bill) Marusak, age 84,passed away in Ennis on July 12, 2016. He was born October 19, 1931 in Waxahachie, Texas to Frank and Betty (Blazek) Marusak. He moved to Creechville as a young boy, and attended Creechville and St. John Schools. He helped on the family farm; and from November 1952 to November 1954, he served his country proudly in the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he went to work for his cousin, Joe Kosarek in Illinois as a carpenter. On November 5, 1955, he married Mildred Jakubik and they continued to live in Illinois, returning to Texas in 1958, settling in Oak Grove area, and later moving to Alma. He continued to do carpentry work, first framing, then to finish work. Later, he worked for Hejny’s Cabinet Shop, retiring in 2003. He was a hard working person, never leaving until tomorrow what could be done today. He loved fishing, gardening and being with his loved ones, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a member of the KJT, KJZT, SPJST, VFW, American Legion and St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty Marusak; two brothers, Frankie and Gene Marusak; two sisters, Rosie Trojacek and Elaine Conner; and grandson, Billy Ray Melton) . He is survived by the love of his life for 60 and half years, Mildred; three sons; three daughters; sixteen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis. Entombment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery with grandsons as pallbearers. ------------------------------------------- United States Army - Veteran of the Korean War The family of Mr. Bill Marusak has asked the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders to honor his memory and service to our Country by standing a Flag Line at his Mass of Christian Burial, take him to his final resting place, and stand again at his interment service. Escort will be provided by the Ennis Police Department.
