Elizabeth "Betty" Agnes Slovak, 85, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019, in Waxahachie. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Ennis. Betty was born on May 21, 1934, in Ellis County, Texas, to the late Frank G. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Blazek) Marusak, one of fourteen children. She was reared in Ennis and attended the Creechville (Ennis) schools. On October 20, 1951, Betty was married to Frank E. Slovak. They began married life in Dallas, Texas, but moved to Hutchins, Texas, in 1964. Betty was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a 75-year member of the KJZT #108. She enjoyed life with her family, being outdoors, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed Czech music and loved dancing to it. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; sons, Frankie and Donnie; brothers: Frankie, Bill, and Gene; and sisters, Elaine and Rose. Survivors include her sons: Edward Slovak and his wife, Tomoko, Gary Slovak, and Anthony Slovak and his wife, Malisa; daughters: Kathleen Peters and her husband, Ron, Annette Prasifka and her husband, Phillip, and Ellen McDonald and her husband, Mark; grandchildren: Amy, Kyle, Joshua, Chelsea, Kaylee, Lindsay, Tyler, Daniel, Jonathan, Samantha, Ashley, Austin, and Amanda; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Georgia, Wilma, Margaret, Lillie, Frances, Geraldine, John and Elick; other relatives and many friends.
