Funeral services for Edgar Miller Johnson were held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2006 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Oakdale, the Reverends Bryan Johnson, Rodney Monk and Glen Chance officiated. Committal services followed in the Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale. Mr. Johnson, 94, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 03, 2006 in Oakdale. He was born on February 29, 1912 to the union of Calvin and Mahalia Johnson in Oakdale. Mr. Johnson was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church for seventy-four years and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He retired from HDE and was a saw filer. Mr. Johnson was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents, Calvin and Mahalia Johnson and his wife, Mary Evelyn Johnson. He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memories, three sons, Jimmy Johnson of Oakdale, Donald Johnson of Lafayette and Charles Johnson of Orange, Texas; eight grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Dr. Thomas Davis, Kennis Jones, Robbie Johnson, Robert Loman, Henry Odom, and David Brown. Honorary pallbearers honored to serve will be Corey Johnson, Bradyn Bushnell, Dakota Pekas, Thomas Davis, Jr., Chris Johnson, and Steven Johnson. Services were under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home,Oakdale, La. Obit help provided by Ron Manley
