Funeral services for Charles Edgar Johnson were held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 19, 2010 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Bryan Johnson officiated. Military rites were conducted by the Ft. Polk Honor Guards. Committal services followed in the Oakdale Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale. Charles, 67, of Orange, Texas, formerly of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 14, 2010 in his residence. He was born on February 19, 1943 in Oakdale to the union of Edgar Miller Johnson and Mary Evelyn Thigpen Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving four years and twelve years service in the Army National Guard. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Those left to cherish his memory, one daughter, Donna L. Pekas and husband, Mark of Hudson, Colorado; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Johnson of Oakdale and Donald G. Johnson of Lafayette; one grandson, Dakota Dwayne Pekas of Hudson, Colorado and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. His parents precede him in death.
