"Celine M. Papa, 83 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Nye Legacy Health and Rehab in Fremont. Celine was born January 30, 1933 in rural North Bend, NE to Bernard and Anna (Plantenberg) Emanuel. She lived in North Bend and attended school there. She was a 1950 graduate of North Bend High School. Celine married Richard “Dick” Papa on October 3, 1953 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. She has lived in Fremont since 1955. She worked at JC Penneys for seven years. She and her husband owned Papa Trucking and Grading where she served as the bookkeeper. She enjoyed bowling for many years and traveling in the motor home around the country, writing poetry and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont and St. Patrick’s Women. She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” of Fremont; son, Dean and wife, Judy Papa of Fremont; brother, Kenneth and wife, Barbara Emanuel of Carson City, Nevada; stepbrother, Bill and wife, Barb Schroedter of West Point, Nebraska; stepsister, Dora Kay and husband, Larry Aldrich of Estherville, Iowa; grandchildren, Deanna and husband, Brock Rogers, Jenna and husband, Garrett Anderson, and Dustin Papa and special friend, Katie McBride and great grandchildren, Greeley Rogers and Grady Rogers and Addilyn Anderson all of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Papa; sisters, Bernice DeVore, Patricia Kavan and Rita Woita. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Ron Battiato will officiate. Memorial visitation with family receiving friends will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 6 PM to 7 PM and a rosary at 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Private family burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
