Bio

Mary Ann Hajek, 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Henry Drozd as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mary was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Frank and Frances (Zabojnik) Jakubik. She grew up in the Creechville Community and attended Pea Ridge School. On March 31, 1948, she married Johnnie Lee Hajek and they made their home in Ennis. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis and KJZT #25. She served as a Den Mother for Girl Scouts and Brownies. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, and arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Lee Hajek; a son, John Paul Hajek; a great-granddaughter, Hazel; brothers, Frank and Emil; and sisters, Frances and Emily. Survivors include her son, Dennis Hajek and wife, Kim; daughters, Deborah Ann Maki and husband, David, and Cynthia Marie Marshall and husband, Garland; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
