Esther was the daughter of Joseph Noah Gallaher and Martha Elizabeth Merriman. She married Oliver Ray (son of William A. (Bud) Ray & Margaret Catherine Morrison) 15 Sep 1912 in Wayne Co., TN. They had 12 children: Jewell, James Harvell, Era, Margaret, Joe, Evelyn, Sue, Janie, Louise, Marie, Bobby & Gary.
