Bio
Evelyn Hlavenka Barath, Age 90, a resident of Irving, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Carrollton, Texas. Evelyn, more affectionately known as Nana or Auntie, was a constant pillar of strength and endurance. While most would call it stubbornness, she always attributed it to her Czech heritage or Hlavenka blood. Ultimately, it was her unwavering faith in God and love of family that made her the anchor in turbulent times and the light in joyful memories. She will be greatly missed for her everlasting strength, guidance and tenacity. She is survived by her devoted children: son, Milt Barath and wife Ying and daughter, Michele Barath; grandchildren: Christopher Hamann and wife Joleen, Stephanie Acevedo and husband Ashley, Sean Hamann and Paul Ford; eight great-grandchildren; sister Helen Marak and husband Ed. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne Street, Irving, Texas 75062. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Saint Martin's Cemetery in Tours, Texas.
