Thanks to contributor #47226369 Agnes Jensen Ord Resident, 97 Agnes Jensen, 97, of Ord died Sat., Sept. 20, 2003 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m, on Wed., Sept. 24 at the United Methodist Church in Ord. Pastor Debra Tompsett-Welch offi­ciated. Concluding services con­ducted by the Eastern Star Andrew Chapter #41. Charlene Schauer was accompanist and Sharon Fuss was the soloist. Pallbearers were Ane Tillotson, Carrie Jensen, Michael Jensen, Brian Jensen, Steven Jensen and Todd Jensen. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery in Ord. Ord Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Ord. Mrs. Jensen was born Nov. 12, 1905 in the Mira Valley area of Valley County to Joseph and Katie (Kasper) Miska. She was raised in Valley County and attended Haskell Creek School and later attended Ord High School. Following the death of her mother, she stayed at home to care for the house and her younger sister, Eva. On Oct. 1, 1930 she married Russell Jensen in Grand Island. The couple first farmed in the Haskell Creek area before moving to Lance Creek, WY then to Klamath Falls, OR. They then moved back to Ord for a short time then moved to Greeley and then back to Ord while her husband was serving in the mil­itary service. Upon his return, they moved to Scotia and then to Grand Island. While living in Grand Island she worked for the Drapery Den. They then moved to Hastings and later to Omaha. While living in Omaha, she worked for Brandeis Store for a number of years. In 1974, they retired and moved back to Ord. Her husband died Nov. 30, 1977. She continued to make her home in Ord until her death. Mrs. Jensen was an active mem­ber of the United Methodist Church in Ord. She worked for the Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years and was a member of Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Margaret Jensen of Grand Island and Gail and Linda Jensen of Onalaska, WI; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Wes, Frank, Ed and Fred Miska; and three sisters, Mary Nielsen, Emma Alderman and Eva Woods.
