Russell Jensen, 69, of Ord died November 30, 1977 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. Mr. Jensen was born September 25, 1908 in Garfield County, Nebraska to Edward and Katy Way Jensen. His early life was spent in the Ord area where he later graduated from the Ord High School. After his schooling, he farmed for seven years then was united in marriage to Agnes Miska October 1, 1930 at the United Methodist Church in Grand Island. He taught vocational agriculture for several years, then moved to Omaha where he was employed by the Farmers National Company. He retired from Farmers National Company in 1974 and remained in Omaha until August of this year when he moved to Ord and was engaged in farm management for the DA-LY Realty company of Grand Island. Russell was a World War 2 veteran, having served in the Navy. He was a member of the Ord United Methodist Church, the Ord Elks Lodge #2371, the American Legion Reuben Beck Post #150 of Scotia, the Crystal Lodge #191 AF &AM at Scotia, the Order of Eastern Star #43 of Scotia and a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, as well as a real estate broker. Survivors include his wife, Agnes of Ord; two sons, Gordon L. Jensen of Grand Island and Gail D. Jensen of Onalaska, WI; six grand-children; three brothers, Walter of Casper, W, Kenneth of Sioux City, IA and Lloyd of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Evers of Cheyenne, WY and Mrs. Gladys Chipps of Buffalo, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charlie. Memorials may be given in his memory to the Ord United Methodist Church or the Heart Fund. Funeral services were Saturday, December 3, at 10 am at the United Methodist Church in Ord with Rev. Earl Reed officiating. Mrs. Shirley Karre was the organist for Michael Johnson who sang, 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'The Lord's Prayer'. Burial was in the Ord Cemetery.
