Bio
Gordon L. Jensen passed away on April 18, 2025, in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the age of 91. Born on November 21, 1933, in Ericson, Nebraska, Gordon was the son of Agnes and Russell Jensen. In May 1953, he proudly joined the United States Air Force, beginning a life marked by service and dedication. On December 27, 1958, Gordon married Margaret Sorgenfrei. Together they built a loving family and shared many years of companionship until her passing. Gordon worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and later devoted countless hours as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. He taught first aid and CPR and provided assistance during natural disasters—efforts that reflected his deep commitment to helping others. He was also actively involved with U.S. Swimming during the years his children Ane, Brian, Carrie, and Steven participated in the sport. An avid outdoorsman, Gordon enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Margaret; and his brother Gail. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Ane and Carrie; sons Brian and Steve; and grandchildren James and Briona.
