Emma M. Hessong Edna – Emma Mae Hessong, 78, of Edna, died Friday, June 21, 2002. She was born April 13, 1924, in Edna, to the late William Thomas and Ethel Halstead Hessong. She was retired owner and operator of Hessong Grocery and a member of Edna Presbyterian Church. Survivors: sisters, Mary A. Covington of New Boston and Ruth Hattenbach of Freeport. Preceded in death by: sisters, Sarah Hessong, Laura Scruggs, Ethel Freeman and Virginia Strelec; brothers, George Hessong, Albert Hessong, Marshall Hessong, David Hessong, Richard Hessong and Louis Hessong; and parents. Services will be 10 a. m. Monday at Edna Presbyterian Church of Edna, the Rev. Terry Bozart officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens of Edna. Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2152.
