Louis Hessong Edna – Louis Hessong, 66, of Edna died in a Victoria hospital Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1991, following an extended illness. Mr. Hessong was born April 29, 1925, in Edna to the late William Thomas and Ethel Halstead Hessong. He married the former Minnie Martha Ganske on Sept. 25, 1944, in Victoria, was a rice farmer from 1948 to 1958, worked in the oilfield as a roustabout from 1958 to 1980 and was a retired heavy equipment operator after serving from 1980 to 1989 for Jackson County. He attended the Robison Street Church of Christ. Survivors: wife, Minnie Ganske Hessong; four daughters; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parent; sisters, Virginia Strelec, Laura Scruggs, Ethel Freeman and Sara Hessong; and brothers, Richard, Albert, Marshall, George and David Hessong. Services 2 p. m. Friday at Robinson Street Church of Christ in Edna, Stan Adams officiating. Burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 782-2152. Pallbearers: Bob, Sonny and Freddie Hessong, Donnie Novak, Larry Deyton, and Brent New. Memorials: American Diabetes Association. Victoria Advocate , December 6, 1991
