Bio

Martin Suckstorf, 61, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 1974, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk, after a short illness. Visitation will be 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, at Magdanz Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m., until service time Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, at Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce, with Rev. Stanley Floth officiating. Organ music will be furnish by Connie Wragge. Pallbearers will be members of Tomek-Otto Legion Post #72. Honorary bearers will be Jim Kruntorad, Bernie Sirek, Harold Wulf, Don Hoffman, Elmer Cress, Willis Flesner, Anton Synovec and Lloyd Sherman. Burial will be in Lambrecht Cemetery, rural Pierce, Nebraska, with military rites conducted by Tomek-Otto Legion Post #72. Martin Suckstorf was born March 22, 1913, in Pierce County, the son of Carl and Emma (Erickson) Suckstorf. He graduated from Pierce High School in 1931. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Rosemary Vyhlidal on March 6, 1963, in Neligh. Together they farmed in the Pierce area and raised cattle and also owned and operated a chicken and egg production business. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary; one son, Carl Suckstorf of Pierce; one daughter, Ann Suckstorf of Pierce; and one brother, Clarence (Winell) Suckstorf of Pierce.
