George Vining Slater was born in Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas on July 5, 1921 to Josephine Belle Weems Slater , b:1889 Texas, and William Vining Boone "Bill" Slater , b:1893 Texas. He was the fourth son and last child of five siblings. Their birth order is: 1. Twin boy, b: 1915 d: 1918 2. Twin boy, b: 1915 d: 1918 (Records on these twins are incomplete at this time.) 3. Willie Orlean "Willene" Slater , b: January 10, 1917 d: May 11, 1957 in Texas 4. Charles A. Slater , b: August 12, 1918, d: June 30, 1920 in Texas 5. (George Vining Boone Slater, b: July 5, 1921, d: May 18, 1933 in Texas) On May 18, 1933, G.V. died of poisoning, as had his three elder brothers and his mother, Josephine. * * * * * * * My sincere thanks to Janie Healer Davis for constructing this memorial page for my uncle, G.V.
