Bio
Charles A., son of Isham and Gilla Simmons, was born in Wayne County January 22, 1870. His entire life has been spent in this county and for many years he has resided on his farm near Cisne, where he enjoyed the confidence and the respect of a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He was united in marriage with Sarah Asa, Sept. 20, 1889. Seven children were born to this union. Following an acute heart attack, he entered peacefully into rest at his home May 8, 1944, age 74 years, 3 months and 16 days. He is survived by his faithful companion; five sons, Isham, Preston, Clarence, Charles, and Irvin; two daughters, Irene Lambrich and Corrine Stopher; one brother, James S; one sister, Della Munkres; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Cisne Methodist Church with interment in the Cisne Cemetery. (Published Wayne County Press---submitted by: #46799457)
