Bio
ISHAM SIMMONS an old and highly respected citizen of Cisne, was born in Monroe county, Kentucky, July 4, 1832; departed this life at his home in Cisne, March 15, 1910, age 77 years, 8 months and 11 days. He was married to Gills P Wilhoite, April 27, 1855. To this union were born 12 children, 5 of whom had preceded him to the better world, 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls with the aged widow are left to morn their loss. He leaves besides the widow and children an invalid brother and two sisters, a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren He was a member of the 11th Illinois volunteers, enlisted in Aug. 1862 and served until he was wounded and honorably discharged. Funeral services at the M.E. church in Cisne.
