Fort Bend Herald, March 20, 2016: Mary Dubec Smith, 74 of Rosenberg Texas, passed away in Sugar Land, TX on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Born March 25, 1941 in Littlefield, Texas she was the daughter of the late Louis Dubec, Sr. and Albina Praslicka Dubec. Also preceding her in death were brothers Edward Dubec and Louis Dubec, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Sam Smith and wife, Lucy, of Rosenberg, TX, and Steven Smith and his wife, Becky, of Austin, TX; brother, Johnny Dubec and wife, Janie, of Richmond TX; sisters, Helen Hughes and husband, Hershell, of Oklahoma City, OK, Agnes Dubec Stephens, of Rosenberg, TX; nieces, Barbara Boettcher and husband, David, and their children, Kelly and Brandon, of Rosenberg, and Elizabeth Vaughn of Rosenberg; grandchildren, Joseph and Rachel Moses, Hunter and Hattie Smith, and Elsie and Micah Pastner Smith; and great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Adam, and Madison; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Mary loved the beach where she spent many summers on family outings. She was a mother to everyone, a guardian angel with invisible wings. She enjoyed making up bedtime stories and spoiling her grandkids as much as possible. She was a champion for those in need of help. Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, March 20, from 4 pm – 6 pm at New Covenant Fellowship, Rosenberg TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 21, 2016, at New Covenant with Rev. Charles Surovik officiating. A graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to New Covenant Fellowship, 1412 Brazos, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
