Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), November 24, 1927, p. 1, col. 7 Anton Peter Blatny, Sr., Passed Away. Linwood, Nov. 22 – Anton Blatny, Sr., passed away at his farm home near Linwood Wednesday, Nov. 16, after an illness that made him bedfast for more than 11 months. He was born in Butler county May 19, 1877, his age at the time of his death being 50 years and 6 months. He had lived and farmed near Linwood his entire life. He was married to Marie Homolka in 1899. His wife preceded him in death February 11, 1914. Seven sons survive Mr. Blatny. They are Anton, Charles, Joe, Frank, Edward, Lewis and Jacob, also one sister, Mrs. Marie F. Bartos of Omaha, and one brother, James J. Blatny of Bruno. They were all present at the funeral. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Z.C.B.J. hall, Rev. Fillipi, of Clarkson, conducting the services. Six of the sons were pallbearers. "As the Days Are Going By," "Abide With Me" and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" were sung by Mrs. F. F. Mundil, Mrs. F. F. Thomas, E. G. Hobart, Alfred Tichacek and Geroge Cranford. Interment was in Linwood Hill cemetery. In attendance at the funeral from elsewhere besides the sister, Mrs. Marie Bartos of Omaha, and the brother, James J. Blatny of Bruno, were Mrs. Marie Vitamvas, Otto Bartos and Charles Bures of Omaha, Charles Homolka of Chambers and a number of relatives and friends from Bruno and Brainard. Mr. Blatny was a member of the Z.C.B.J., W.O.W. and A.O.U.W. lodges.
