She married Joel Asberry Thomas 13 Dec 1866 in Blount County, Alabama. OBITUARY Mrs. Rebecca Thomas, widow of the late Berry Thomas, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Jordan, on route 2, Oneonta, on Wednesday of last week. Her death was due to paralysis. She had been sick for quite a while. The deceased was about 80 years of age. She was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by four sons, Jordan, Asa, Parrot and Joe Thomas; three daughters, Mrs. James Jordan, Mrs. Jake Engle and Mrs. Merridy Walker. The funeral services were held at Antioch Cemetery and were conducted by Rev. P.J. Jordan. [The Southern Democrat, April 12, 1928]
