Bio

Ruthie was the 10th of 13 children born to Thomas Benton & Nancy E. Ferguson Mills. She was fishing with a sister when she drowned in the stock tank. Barbara Mills Miller wrote a brief history of the Mills family in the book, "A Family History of Limestone County". She said when Telitha Ruth "Ruthie" drowned she was buried at Old Armour Cemetery. When her father, Thomas Benton Mills, died in 1920, he was also buried there. When Nancy Ferguson Mills died in 1938, she was buried at Mexia City Cemetery and both Ruthie and Thomas were reinterred there beside her. The Mexia Public Library has a copy of the book.
