MATTIE LEE HINOTE ARD ROBERTSDALE -- Mattie Lee Hinote Ard, 89, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Robertsdale Health Care Center. Ard was a first-class welder at the Alabama Ship Yard during World War II. She also worked seasonally grading local potatoes, corn and pecans, and established herself as a caregiver for the aged. She is survived by three daughters, two sons, three stepchildren, 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 15 step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. today at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Hinote Family Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Perpetual Care Fund of the Hinote Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Ella Jane and Sam Davis, Gloria and Chick Swoboda, all of Robertsdale and GayNell Palmissano Seidenfaden of Mobile; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jeannie Ard of Bay Minette and Allen and Joan Ard of Elberta; two stepsons and their wives, Clarence and Lavonne Ard and Jack and Jerri Ard; one stepdaughter and her husband, Betty and Clete Swartzwelder; 18 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services were held July 10 at Mack Funeral Home's Robertsdale chapel with burial in the Hinote Cemetery in Robertsdale. Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory.
