"THE INDEPENDENT," ROBERTSDALE, ALA., THURS., FEB. 2, 1995, p7a COMMUNITY NEWS--by Kathryn Weekley Our sincere sympathy to the family of Ada Esther Hurlburt of Loxley, who died Saturday, Jan. 28. She was 73 years old. Ada was the daughter of Archie P. and Ella Ida Hinote. Arch was born and raised in Styx River, the son of one of our first settlers, coming just after the end of the War Between the States. Uncle Bill, or Pappy, as the first settler was called, reserved out of his land, the acre for the Hinote Cemetery, and he and many of his family members are buried there. Ada had deep roots in Styx River, and she never forgot her relatives here. "THE INDEPENDENT," ROBERTSDALE, ALA., THURS., FEB. 9, 1995, p4b
