Former Columbia city councilman William Coggin Fraser, 78, of 222 Mockingbird Drive died today at home. Service are Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home, with burial in Polk Memorial Gardens. He was a Baptist, a retired restaurant operator, served in World War II as a Corporal in the US Army, a member of the American Legion. Fraser was the son of the late Forgey and Leto Mae Coggin Fraser. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Moffett Fraser; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Elizabeth) Lyons of Memphis and Mrs. Joe (Donna) Johns of Columbia; and two brothers Raymond C. Fraser and Fulton Fraser, both of Columbia; and three grandsons. Pallbearers are George Massey, Doyle Sullivan, LeRoy Gibson, Clint Gaskill, Roscoe Curtis, Malcom Hood Jr., Ray Massey, Claude Ammons, R.V. Haygood and William Wells.
