Bio

Mrs. Effie Pillow Fraser Mangrum, 79, a native of Maury County and a long-time resident of Birmingham, died Tuesday afternoon at the Maury County Hospital following several months illness. Mrs. Mangrum had been making her home in Columbia for the past two years with her sister, Mrs. Mosie Fraser Sparkman at 214 Seventh Avenue. Mrs. Mangrum was the daughter of the late Forgey and Leto Mae Coggin Fraser. She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church. Mrs. Mangrum was the wife of the late William E. Mangrum who died Dec. 5, 1969. Survivors in addition to her sister, Mrs. G.E. Sparkman, include five brothers, H.C. Fraser of Birmingham, Richard O. "Dick" Fraser, R.C. Fraser, W.C. Fraser, and Fulton Fraser, all of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers will be James Ray Fraser, Bill Sparkman, Bam Webster, Eddie Delk, Bill Wallace, Joe Johns, Lewis Mangrum, Owen Williams and Fran Hannah (Columbia Herald) - No Children
