Justina P. Smith, age 89, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lakepoint Nursing and Rehabilitation, Wichita, Kansas. She was born October 29, 1925, in Henderson, Nebraska, the daughter of Jacob C. and Anna (Ott) Peters. On September 5, 1953 she married Dale W. Smith at York, Nebraska. Justina was a teacher for nearly two decades, and also served the Lord as a minister's wife serving churches with her husband in Kansas, Nebraska and Ohio. Justina loved her family and looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Henry, Leonard, and Abraham; and sisters, Kathryn Couch; and Maria Nunnenkamp. Survivors include her daughters, Colleen A. Smith, Wichita, KS; Debra (Harley) Davis, Tulsa, OK; Candace (Scott) Day, Augusta, KS; Angela Smith; Wichita, KS; and Rebecca Smith, Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Jeanette Peters, Hydro, OK; brother-in-law, Martin (Barbara) Smith, Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Marylyn Haley, Kansas City, KS; six grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Funeral service at Grace Hill Mennonite Church, Rural Newton, KS. Memorials to Grace Hill Mennonite Church, Lakepoint Nursing and Rehab, or Meals on Wheels.
