Ella Sedonia (Long) Hale (March 29, 1909 - June 3, 1976) The Lusk Herald June 10, 1976 Ella Hale dies Here Thursday Mrs. Ella Hale died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital last Thursday, and funeral service was held at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk Monday. Ella Sedonia Long Kilmer Hale was born to Porter and Emma Long on March 29, 1909, at Ord, Neb. She spent her childhood in and around Arnold, Neb. In 1926 she and Clarence Kilmer were married and in April of 1933 moved to a ranch northeast of Lusk where she lived until 1948. They were parents of four children. In 1950 she and Oscar Hale were married at Chadron, Neb., and they made their home in Lance Creek for several years. Mrs. Hale was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lusk, and "will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend," said the family. The Rev. Fred Bolinger conducted the funeral. Music was provided by Minerva Watson, organist; and Marion Fosher and Mildred Miller who sang. Casket bearers were Ray Taylor, Walt Kant, Kenneth Malmberg, John Hammond, Ralph Sides and Verle Ellis. Survivors include three sons, Everett Kilmer, Lusk; Robert Kilmer, Valentine, Neb., and Alvin Kilmer, Salem, Utah; daughter, Marie Henthorn, Monahans, Tex.; three brothers, Allen Long, Emory Long, both of Stapleton, Neb., and Joseph Long, Everett, Wash.; five sisters, Louise Hermansen, Viola Konings, Nova Vogel, Arnold, Neb., Twila Kramer, Stapleton, Neb., Minnie Lambert, Lusk; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
